NIGHT MODE![]() So photo 1. A night shot with some street lighting of my favorite cinema in North London. Both of these were shot using the night mode setting on both devices. So both phones take a long exposure whilst stabilizing the shot. Both were taken handheld. As you can see there are a few major differences between the two devices. Most notably the brightness of the OnePlus 7 pro photo. The darker blues in the sky on the Samsung Galaxy S10. When it comes to the exposure you can see the highlights around the lettering on the front of the cinema blowing out just a bit on the S10 photo. Also if you look at the left side of the building you'll also notice the OnePlus 7 pro is picking up significantly more detail around the neon lights. I think this is likely due to the Sony 48MP imx sensor in the OP7pro. STREET LIGHT NIGHT SHOT![]() Ok, the 2nd photo shot in a very dark setting. I tried my best to get the dog to sit still she just wouldn't. My apologies. However, you get a good idea of the difference between the two. One thing that really caught my eye about this photo is the raindrops on the grass & the better color saturation on the OP7. The Galaxy S10 does a good job also...but It's got to be the OnePlus 7 pro on this one...doesn't it? NIGHT SKY AT 11PM - EXTREME NIGHT SHOT![]() Ok, so this one was taken directly into the night sky. It had to be around 11 pm when I took this. Honestly, both phones blew me away here. Standing there I honestly couldn't see any of those colors in the sky. It was just black. That's why these photos surprised me so much. I feel that the brightness and saturation are better on the OP7pro and the detail is more on the side of the Samsung Galaxy S10. I personally prefer the OnePlus 7 pro photo. But what about you. INCREDIBLY LOW LIGHT NIGHT SELFIE![]() Ok, a night selfie. I didn't use the flash on either device. I think this photo will give you a good idea of actually how dark it was. So the Galaxy S10 here is doing a good job of brightening my face however losing a lot of detail in the shadows on the right side of my face. There also seems to be quite a bit of noise in the sky. The OnePlus 7 seems to have bumped up the saturation and smoothed out the image a bit also. However, I do look a bit green like I'm just about to turn in to the Hulk or something. Now don't judge the night performance of these devices purely off of this. It was incredibly dark were I standing in this one. DAYLIGHT BRIGHT PHOTOSo believe it or not it was actually really sunny in London... For one day. It's been rainy ever since. Any way the photos. So the Samsung Galaxy S10 has added a significant amount of saturation and boosted the highlights. You can see this quite clearly on the dog's nose. The OP7 pro is delivering quite a natural picture overall. Nothing seems to overexpose...now let's zoom in 70%. So looking a little closer at this you can see a lot of differences. The dog's fur appears to be much smoother on the OnePlus 7 as opposed the S10, there seems to be more texture on the Galaxy S10. It's hard to say which one is better here. So I'm interested to know what you think. Use the poll or leave a comment. REAR CAMERA PORTRAIT AKA BOKEH AKA BLURRY BACKGROUND![]() Ok, a portrait shot of my Beats Studio 3. I made a video about this that I think you guys might like. Anyway...the photos. So before you ask the lens was not smudged on the S10. There was a very bright shaft of light shining through the trees here. I actually really like both of the photos even with the lens flare on the S10 photo. In terms of background blur the Galaxy S10 is creating more blur but the OnePlus 7 pro is not far behind. I felt that lens flair made this one a little difficult to judge so I took another portrait photo back at the lab. So check this out. It's John Wick baba yaga. Did you see John Wick 3 yet...what an awesome film that was? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So again more blur on the Galaxy S10 which you can clearly see. Although you might notice the sharpness around the edges of the boogyman seems to be better on the OnePlus 7... However, the S10 has a feature that allows you to add some awesome effects to the background blur...check this out. That's awesome. MAXIMUM ZOOM TEST - OPTICAL, 10X ZOOM![]() ![]() ![]() Ok, now the zoom test. So you probably can see it but around 30 miles in this direction the London Shard...you know that really tall pointy building in central London. Anyway, let's optical zoom. Can you see it yet? Now let's 10x digital zoom. So now you can see it. In terms of detail, it's too close to call. One thing is for sure the saturation is on the side of the S10 but there does seem to be some noise in the foreground details. EXTREME HDR TESTOk, now an extra high dynamic range shot. The sun was literally right behind that cloud at the top. So again another close one to call. The black levels and highlights are certainly higher on the OP7...the S10 is doing a good job of not losing details in the shadows...but that's what is causing that mistiness on the left side of the photo. Which one do you like? Ok, let's here's a couple of selfies of my ugly mug & I'm not going to leave these up to you to decide. Use the polls up in the corner to vote & then vote for your overall winner. ![]() ![]() If there's anything I've left out of this that you would like to see. Let me know and I'll post those photos for you on my twitter. MORE VIDEOS FROM WHATGEAROK so there's a lot of people throwing Beats Studio 3 Wireless headphones under the bus in their reviews. ![]() Picture one taken in artificial light inside the comic con. Yes it's a busy of Ironman made out of foam. Looks pretty awesome right? The iPhone whilst delivering a decent photo with good detail seems to be quite a bit darker than the OP7pro. This is likely due to its smaller image sensor. The OP7pro photo on the other hand appears to have more detail, more accurate colours. It's not crushing the blacks as much as the iphone. Generally speaking I think the OP wins this one. What do you think? ![]() Ok it's Ironman once again. This time shot in very bright natural lighting conditions. Again the iPhone is producing a darker picture. It's crushing the black levels again, and has a lot more shadow. and you can really see that if you look at the Joker on the right side of the picture. I gotta give it to the op7 again. ![]() So now a selfie portrait on the two devices. Many thanks to the lady playing Lara Croft. So there are some significant differences here on the iPhone a truly amazing amount of blurry background, but the subject of the image is quite misty. It almost appears to have a sort of smokey mist over the entire photo. The OP7 however has delivered a very crisp photo. There doesn't seem to be any softness to the photo. I don't feel it's over sharpening the image and I personally think the skin tones are more accurate. The amount of background blur is not quite a much as the iPhone but it's pretty decent...don't you think? ![]() Ok rear camera portrait. Again the iPhone delivering more blur. But what is interesting here is the colours. It seems to me that in portrait mode the iPhone is doing a better job. The OP7 seems to a lot brighter and a bit more washed out. I'm sure this is something OP can improve in software...but I think you got to give this one to the iPhone. ![]() Now colour test. Shot indoors...how many of you are fortnite fans? Anyway. I've done quite a few camera comparisons with the iPhone, and it almost always seems to ad a warmer tint to photos...which you can see here. The OP7pro once again with its larger image sensor is delivering a brighter image with vibrant colours and not too much dark shadows. The iPhone however much darker and deeper colours plus way more shadows. When it comes to colour accuracy, I'd say OP7 is doing better. You may disagree...if so leave a comment. Now a detail shot. So there was some kind of cosplay gathering out from. The lighting conditions were good...but what I want to show you here is how much detail the cameras can pick up. ![]() ![]() So I zoomed way way way in to this photo in post editing. So you guys can see the difference in detail reproduction...so here's Thor God of Thunder holding storm breaker. I'm actually really impressed with how the OP7 is doing here. There's not too much distortion or pixelation, compared to the iPhone. What do you think? Does the OP7 win this one? ![]() This is Chewbacca, Chewbacca is a wooky who chooses to live on endor with a bunch of 2ft tall ewoks....that does not make sense. I took this shot to demonstrate HDR. Due to the pretty heavy backlighting through the windows, I think this will suffice. I think you will agree both phones are delivering impressive detail...but the shades of colour coming from the OP7 look better to me. I seems to me that the strong lighting is affecting how much detail the iPhone is able to take in in the foreground of the photo. OP7 wins? These last 4 photos I'm gonna leave for you to decide which one wins. So there will be polls up in the top right corner for you to vote...so let me know. Also I'd love to here you feedback in the comments. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ONEPLUS 7 PRO [EU] PRICE Hope you guys enjoyed this daylight camera comparison if you're interested in seeing a low light photography comparison. via TECH NEWS & REVIEWS - WhatGear.Net https://www.whatgear.net/technology/oneplus-7-pro-vs-iphonexs So summer is coming and you might be looking for a good sound investment for you summer holidays, BBQs and stuff like that. There's a few front runners in this market. Stuff like the ultimate ears, the JBL's and the Bose. Which are all pretty sound when it comes to ruggedness, portability, and audio quality. With that said that said, the new Sony SRS-XB32 brings a little something different to the table.Does it extra high ends, extra mids...no it's more bass. Also a pretty cool light array setup. SRS-XB32 CURRENT PRICE [EU]![]() So this is a little bit of an incremental upgrade to the Sony SRS XB32 from last year's SRS-XB31. The main differences this year is top, back and sides of the device are now covered with a hard shell as opposed to mesh from last year. I've heard people hating on this change. But let's consider what advantages this brings to the device. Better dust resistance with an IP67 rating. Meaning its more resilient in those sandy/dusty conditions. The other cool thing is now the led light array wraps round the sides forming this flux capacitor on both sides. Also because of the hard shell, arguably it may help with the acoustics...maybe. ![]() There is another significant upgrade from last year's XB31. It's actually something I spoke about in my review from last year and that's now you can customise the light array using the first able app. So let's talk about some things that haven't changed. The 48mm drivers and passive radiators are the same & located in the same places. The battery life is the same, it still charges over USB b. It would have been nice to It still has a 24hr battery life which is very important as you know. Also this is cool. Imagine you down by the beach not a single power supply in sight...and your phone runs out of power because you've had the BT on all day. It's all good because you can be like...I have the power! via TECH NEWS & REVIEWS - WhatGear.Net https://www.whatgear.net/technology//sony-srs-xb32-review-should-you-buy-this-party-speaker 1. The displayThis is the first time we see a OnePlus device with more than a 1080p FHD+ display. Don't get me wrong the 1080p on the 6T display is formidable at 402ppi. With that said the new OnePlus 7 pro has the NEW fluid amoled display which is now for the first time 1440x3120 which ppi of 516. Let's be honest about this. It's just better and it's all screen...no notch. If that wasn't enough to convince you this OLED panel has a refresh rate of 90hz. Which it's much fast & smoother...and a bigger screen calls for a bigger battery. The OnePlus 6T had a 3700mah cell and now the Oneplus has a huge 4000mah battery. 2. The CamerasSo one of the areas I wish my OnePlus 6T was a little better at is this area. Bear in mind I've been spoilt a bit because I've been testing devices like the Sony XZ3, Google Pixel 3, Mate 20 and View 20. ![]() So the 6T has this dual layout with two 16MP cameras & 16MP selfie cam. Now I'm not trying to knock its performance. In fact, a lot of my Instagram pics are shot on the Ones 6T, and a lot of people seem to like them. However now on the OnePlus 7pro, there has been another giant leap forward in camera tech. The OnePlus 7 has triple cameras with the primary being the Sony IMX 48MP half-inch sensor. This is great for many reasons. One of them being that the OP7 can take in more light than the 6T. So you will get much better low light performance. Not only that, but you will also get far more detail in each shot thanks to its 4 in 1 pixel binning software. Combine that with the 16MP ultrawide camera. For those time you're trying to take a group photo...and you're backing up... you're backing up and you fall off a cliff. No need for that because it can shoot 118degrees...to put that into perspective the human eye can see roughly 120degrees. Say cheese. Let's not forget the OnePlus 7's third eye 8MP telephoto. The OnePlus 6T had a digital zoom but that's never going to be as good as optical. So for you passionate photography phenoms. The camera improvements are a very good reason to upgrade. 3. SoundSo look here see. Sound and Vision go hand in hand & now the OnePlus 7 pro has one of the most beautiful screens in the Flagship game. and I'm not afraid to say one of the weaknesses in all previous OnePlus devices was lack of stereo speakers. This is no longer a weakness. If you're the type of person who likes to consume a lot of video content on your phone. Then the addition of stereo speakers...I think is a good reason to upgrade. If you like to use headphones a lot then maybe this isn't that exciting for you...but for me it's kind of a big deal. 4. PerformanceThe 6T really was and still is an incredibly fast phone. Time is a really valuable commodity, and nobody can really give you your time back. But if you can save it...well that's a good thing. The 6T had the Qualcomm 845 and up to 10GB of ram, which is still faster than a lot of phones today. The Oneplus 7 pro now has the epic Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 which is 3 times faster than the 845 and 2 times faster than Apples current flagship A12 bionic. How much are those phones again? Throw in up to 12GB of ram and you truly have a speed demon of a device right there at your fingertips. The improvements delivered by the 855 isn't just speed. You're going to see loads more improvements in AI, connectivity and loads more stuff. Also, the data read/write speeds have been increased that's thanks to the all-new UFS 3.0 storage which is 79% faster than what we see on the OnePlus 6T. Also, the modem has been upgraded from the 6T which was a Cat 16 the OP7 pro now has a Cat 18 modem. So faster internet speeds which are all important for the number 5 reason to upgrade. 5. GamingSo a 9Hz panel the world's most powerful mobile platform the Snapdragon 855. Inside the 855 resides the Adreno 640 GPU. The 6T had the Adreno 630 GPU which has 20% slower than the 640GPU...again can you give me my time back. So I could stop there and this is an amazing gaming phone. But there is more. OnePlus have rebranded and improved upon the gaming mode that was present in the OnePlus 6T. Enter Fnatic mode! Fnatic being a well-known eSports organization. To put it simply the OnePlus will focus all forward thrusters on your gameplay using a process regulator. It will also strip back all unnecessary distractions & and apply network enhancements for as low latency gaming as possible. So you thought that was it didn't you. There are a couple more really awesome upgrades in the OnePlus 7 that are really going to make a huge difference to gaming experiences. When your gaming your phone is under a lot of pressure, your Processor starts to heat up, the performance begins to throttle to compensate for this. Your hands are also warming the device as well. Here's the solution Beneath the surface of the Oneplus 7 is a 10 layer liquid cooling system. Strategically placed to keep your device cool under pressure. As for you the gamer...lets just hope you're not one of those people who like to rage quit Also, there's a new more powerful & accurate haptic feedback system. I which I heard is one of the best in the smartphone game. That's my top 5 reasons for upgrading. I didn't mention the new 30watt Warp charging which is mind-blowing for a reason. That's because the OnePlus 6T's dash is still pretty epic. Warp charge is better though. That's it I'll see you guys in the next one & and remember you can always make more money but... nobody can give you your time back, but the speed of the Oneplus 7 pro you can save it. I have got some good news for you guys. Courtesy of Qualcomm the mother of Snapdragon processors. There are now three new powerful & more affordable chipsets have entered the world. ![]() Before you splash out some serious cash on a flagship phone. Try to figure out what it is that's so important you must have a flagship device. Is it amazing cameras features, amazing AI, top quality graphics & gaming performance? If it's any of those the three I just mentioned then you need to read on, or watch this video. Qualcomm has just hatched 3 new Snapdragons into the world of mid-range smartphones. Each one bringing some serious firepower. Let's start with the mid-tier. Snapdragon 665 - Mid-range Fire PowerIt's not been long since we saw the Snapdragon 660 arrive mid-2018. Already Qualcomm has stepped up their silicone manufacturing game with a NEW 2019 11nm Snapdragon processor. The little beast that is the Snapdragon 665 will bring some huge improvements across the board. Let's begin with the advancements camera tech support. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 665 will now support triple camera technology. Just like the camera tech seen on the new Samsung S10 and Huawei P30 pro, the Xperia 1 & most likely what we will see on the next iPhone. ![]() We are talking about mid-range devices with three cameras. The SD665 will be able to support telephoto, wide angled and super wide angled lenses on a single device. Not only are there now more possibilities for camera lenses. The SD665 will also support image sensor sizes up to 48MP with HDR support. To top it off phones running on the SD665 will have the ability to shoot super slow-mo video at 720p 240fps. That’s not all. There are plenty more improvements to the Qualcomm SD655 in other areas too. We can expect 2x better AI than the 660, as well an improved gaming experience with 20% better power efficiency & up 600Mbps downloads speeds. All of these flagship features were only available in the flagship tier in 2018, but now they are about to find a new home in the mid-range smartphone market. Things are definitely going to get interesting in the £199 to £499 Smartphone price bracket in 2019. Snapdragon 730 - Upper Mid-range ShooterLet's turn up the heat a little bit now with the newly announced Snapdragon 730. A new 8nm chip designed for the upper mid-tier smartphones. If you thought the SD665 sounded good. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 is bringing even more firepower to the table. ![]() The Qualcomm SD730 will support image sensor sizes up to 192MP... Let that sink in for a second...Yes, I said it 192MP. As far as I know, a smartphone image sensor of this size does not exist yet. With that said, I've got a feeling that if Qualcomm is able to facilitate this, then the hardware must be on its way. 192MP smartphone camera...who will be first to launch this? Also, some new video advancements have been made. The Snapdragon 730 will be able to deliver 4K HDR video with (bokeh) portrait effect. It will also be able to shoot portrait (bokeh) video at 60fps. This is definitely exciting news for video creators like me. The Snapdragon 730 is not just about improvements to the camera features. It has some significant AI upgrades as well. In comparison to the SD710, the Snapdragon 730 will have 2X better AI processing & it's 4gen AI engine. It's also the 1st time we will see Qualcomm's Tensor accelerator and computer vision (CV-ISP) chip on a Snapdragon 7 series chipset. Previously this was only available on the 855 flagship processor. Phones running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 should truly be fire when it comes to AI and Camera quality. Stay tuned to the WhatGear YouTube channel for video content on this. Snapdragon 730G - For the GamersOf course, I saved the awesomeness for last. The mightiest of the three Snapdragons. This one is for the gamers. Every single awesome upgrade I've mentioned so far exists on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor. However, this one has little more ferocity. With the mobile gaming industry booming. We are in need of hardware that can deliver exceptional gaming experiences. Going back to what I said at the beginning. Not every gamer will want to spend the money to buy a flagship. That's where the Snapdragon 730G steps in. The SD730G is the fire breathing Snapdragon gaming processor we've been waiting for. This variant of the 730 processor has been enhanced and adapted specifically for gamers. It will have 25% faster graphics rendering than the 730. It will also have a 35% better CPU performance. Not only can we expect to see amazing gaming performance in terms of speeds and frame rates. We will also see significant graphical improvements as well. With the addition, HDR gaming compatibility &10 Bit colour depth mapping, REC 2020 colour gamut support, and over 1 Billion shades of colour. Expect your games to look truly awesome on SD730G devices. Enter the Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite gaming experience. ![]() Out of the three new Snapdragons just launched which one sounds like the right one for you? This is a gift and a curse for Sony fans like us. The gift is no notch. Just a 5.7" 720p 303 ppi IPS LCD display protected by gorilla glass 5. The Curse. A considerable amount of forehead housing the earpiece and the 8mp wide angled selfie cam, and an even bigger chin. The glass looking finish over the back over the subtly glittered surface actually looks really nice in daylight. The diamond cut bezels around the camera module is also a nice touch. The Xperia L3's design is pretty old school but with that said that I am an old school kind of guy. I still like wired headphones. Yes the L3 has a headphone jack. Also, the Sony Xperia of 2019 have returned to the old school side mounted fingerprint reader that we saw a few years back. The implementation of this actually looks pretty nice & it keeps the design arguably more ergonomic than last year's XZ3 and XZ2, just based off of the placement. Also, this time around the fingerprint reader is not doubled up as a power button. Maybe this helps with the accuracy of the fingerprint reader. Or maybe it's just more cost effective, but actually, I prefer this as opposed to digging my thumb into the side of the phone. It's just a little more effortless. This entry level 2019 Xperia does have a USB C port which I was happy to see. It's more convenient I think you'll agree. The volume rocker just below the fingerprint reader that I think is perfectly placed, Also a single downward firing speaker on this one. It's important to remember this is the best from Sony 2019. Stay tuned to WhatGear for more on the midrange and flagship models in the future. UsabilityFirst and foremost the Xperia L3 might be one of the most comfortable Sony phones I've held for a long time. It has no sharp corners and nice round edges where the screen meets the bezels. The Xperia L3 at the time of this video is running on Android Oreo and Sony have done a good job of not filling the device with bloatware out of the box. Powering the device performance is a Mediatek 6762 and 3GB of ram which is not bad. Would have been nice to have seen a Snapdragon 660 but hey that might have increased the price point...a bit. However it's more than powerful enough for top 5 social media apps and general smartphone apps. That battery life is not bad either, with it's 3300mah battery which easily lasted me until the end of the day. It also has Sonys own adaptive charging that learns your charging patterns and as a result, doesn't kill your batteries life in the long run. The Sony Xperia L3 actually surprised me with unlocking features. it's got face unlock feature as well a voice unlock, and the fingerprint reader is very snappy and rarely fails. I actually have all three on at the same time... So It is just whatever I feel like using at the time. It's nice to have options The cameras are not bad given the price that this comes in at. The Xperia L3 has a dual camera setup. You've got 13mp primary and 2mp depth sensor. More on that later. Sony has also thrown in some experimental stuff. Which is good to see. You've got high contrast text which just sharpens up your text characters. It's pretty cool. The color correction which has a strange effect. And color inversion which inverts everything including photos and apps etc... Everything looks pretty horrible in this mode, but the menus look good. It is kind of like an unfinished dark mode. I would have liked to of seen a proper dark mode but hey they're halfway there. Let me know what you think about dark mode there's a poll up in the top corner. QualityThe LCD HD+ screen is quite good considering the price tag. There's not much color shift when off axis. When watching movies it's clarity is actually quite sharp and there's a definite pop in color when it comes to reds. There is actually a setting to adjust your color balance...but to be honest I think most people won't need to mess with that. ![]() As for its performance. I tested this out pretty heavily with some lengthy PubG sessions and it holds up well. Yes, I couldn't run it on the highest graphics settings, but it was a pretty seamless experience. The sound quality is really not amazing. the single firing speaker is not going to blow your mind, but with that said. headphone jack. Get yourself some Sony WH-1000XM3 and your good. Awesome FeaturesThe cameras. A couple of the great things about the Xperia L3 camera is it supports bokeh aka blurry background, on the back and front cameras. So that's pretty awesome. Also within the camera app. There are a bunch of presets that will help you take good photos in all kinds of different conditions and the rear shooter supports HDR. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Even though this is entry level. Sony has still integrated NFC which means you can do contactless payments via your and pair NFC devices with one touch. You don't always see this on entry tier of devices. So that's pretty awesome too. One of the most awesome features is its overall build quality. It actually feels surprisingly premium for such an affordable device. Nothing feels cheap and actually when it comes to entry-level devices this one of the nicest I've ever seen in terms of build quality that I've tested. It feels so nice in the hand even the weight is spot on. ![]() via TECH NEWS & REVIEWS - WhatGear.Net https://www.whatgear.net/technology/sony-xperia-l3
CURRENT PHANTOM REACTOR PRICE [EU]
Ok first of let me just say Phantom Reactor...that just might be the most awesome speaker name I ever heard... If you know of a speaker with a better name this let me know. ![]() So imagine you've got this speaker in your house & your friends are like “what wireless speaker is that?” ...and you're like “hey you know I just got myself a phantom reactor....it's 900 watts, up to 98dB. Bass as low as 18hz...why what speaker have you got?” The Devialet Phantom reactor. What a powerful name it has, and trust me it is powerful! You WhatGear legends (YT Subscribers) who have been subscribed to the channel for a while will know... I'm a big fan of Devialet. Now we have this new addition to the formidable French Hi-Fidelity companies Phantom line up. I can't tell you how excited I am about this. You know I was one of the 1st people on YouTube to put a video out on the Phantom. I was as excited then as I am now. Honestly, guys, the Phantom Reactor is going to open your ears & eyes. DEVIALET PHANTOM REACTOR PRICE [US]DesignThe Devialet Phantom Reactor is roughly a quarter the size of it's bigger brother the Devialet Gold/Silver Phantom. It's roughly 16 x 17 x 22cm. It is tiny, but it is also no lightweight speaker. The Reactor weighs in at over 4.KG and it's a heavy hitter. ![]() Just to get an idea of its size, in the Devialet Phantom Reactor review video, you can see it side by side with a Bose SoundLink mini and my current favorite BT speaker the Sony SRS X7. It is virtually identical to the original Phantom with the white sides, and snowflake grill on the front. Power button and ports as well as heat vents at the back. Of course it has got the iconic aluminum woofer covers on sides. except this time the are 10cm's in diameter. There are a couple of differences here in comparison to the big phantoms. The way the Phantom Reactor has been manufactured is slightly different. It's still a single piece cabinet but now you've got capacitive touch buttons across the top. The original phantoms had a mid driver and a seperate tweeter. Whereas the phantom Reactor has single 3cm aluminum midrange/treble driver. This is due to reduction in size of the speaker. Just so you know there are 160 patents and 981 part on this thing. So when it comes to design the Reactor is certainly unique. UsabilityLet’s go back to the capacitive touch buttons. Across the top we have got BT pairing, volume down, play/pause, volume up, and a sync button for the app. There's also a LED indicator light to help you with pairing etc. ![]() As for input methods you've got airplay, BT, Spotify connect, upnp optical and analog I'm a little disappointed there isn't Deezer integration. Especially being that Deezer is also a French company. Don’t worry I'm sure thats something they could add that later. To get the full Hi-Res audio 24bit 192kHz out of the reactor you're going want to use either airplay, upnp or optical and analog from a compatible source. Now onto the app. So the volume control dominates the majority of the home screen. With the volume dial. ![]() All the options to switch sources are there. Due to the fact, I use an Android phone. To get the most out of the phantom wirelessly you will need to download the Bubble UPNP app. It kind of works in tandem with the Devialet app. Would be nice to see this integrated into the Devialet app...but to be honest once you set it up it works pretty seamlessly. Also, you have the option to add multiple phantoms to the one app... And even pair two of them for stereo sound... So that brings me on nicely to the Quality. QualityWhen it came to testing the sound quality. You know I wasn’t going to be testing this epic HiFi compact speaker with some horribly compressed source. So I went out of my way to download some HiRes Flac tracks , especially for you guys. It is important you understand, that what you are hearing in the video is recorded via a video rode mic pro. Then rendered in premiere pro. Then played back on the device your watching on... So the Phantom Reactor really is something you have to go to the store and hear and see for yourself. Click on this image above to watch the Devialet Phantom Reactor sound test segment of the video. I really did try my best to visualize the sound quality in the demo video. I hope you can appreciate that. I've heard a lot of Hi-End speakers... I actually worked in the Harrods technology department...you know that dusty old building in London Knightsbridge for a long time. I've heard a lot of end stuff. Hopefully you can trust my opinion more than most. The great thing about the sound quality is even at lower volumes you still get that full sounds. When it comes to the sound stage it's not fair to judge it without listening to a stereo pair. Just know this. In my opinion a single Phantom Reactor packs more than enough power to fill a large room with powerful bass and amazing clarity and smooth mids. The best thing about the Reactors sound quality is that even at its highest output level there is no sharpness to the highs. Nothing is lost in the mids or bass notes. It is incomparable to anything you will find on a speaker this small. I can promise you that. And I don't even need to tell you about the build quality... Because you already know. Awesome Features.![]() ADH TechnologyDevialet has its own patented amplification tech. The ADH which is essentially combining class A and Class D methods. The advantage of this is that the size of the amp can be much smaller. You get the raw power of an analog amplifier combined with the efficiency of a digital amp. So to break it down simply you can blast this thing from zero to 100 in second and suffer no distortion, 0 saturation, and zero background noise. Just a clean room-filling audio track at whatever level your listening at. It's amazing that even at low volume you still get a really full rich sound. HeartBass Implosion - HBINext up the heart bass Implosion tech. Did you know the cabinet of this speaker has been sealed with 500KG of pressure? So all that pressure just wants to explode out of this thing with those bass notes...and hopefully, you could really see that in the sound test section. Signal Active Matching - SAMSignal active matching... So basically Devialet says the phantom will match the exact rhythm and tempo of your music with absolute precision. Active co-spherical matching - ACESo the idea is the way in which the phantom outputs the sounds from either side and from the front. You get this real waveform coming from the speaker. Sort of like the pattern you would see if dropped a pebble into still water. That sort of smooth ripple effect. SubWoofer CoversAnd the last awesome Feature has got to be those woofer covers. What other HiFi speaker is there out that is visually pleasing as this. SummaryI know the sticking point for a lot of people will be the price. All I can say is “You get what you pay for.” Yes, there are lots of cheaper options out their...but that's not what you're looking if you are watching this. The Devialet Phantom is head and shoulders above anything else of comparable size. That's why it costs so much. If I had space I would probably opt for the bigger phantoms. That statement comes from real life experience because I actually had a gold phantom here, and I quite literally couldn't find anywhere to put it. The Phantom Reactor is so compact and fits perfectly in any room in my apartment. My dream setup would be to have two phantom Reactors either side my TV on the official Devialet ...stands. That would quite literally be the perfect setup for me. The Phantom Reactor is the best in class when it comes sound to size ratio. Yes, you could get more bass and more mids from the Devialet Gold Phantom but damn they take up a lot of space. But not as much as a floor standing speaker. So should you buy the Phantom Reactor? Yes if you are after the best quality compact speaker on the market. If it's the power you're after then check out this video you will like it. See you in the next one. Don't be late. The question is it really worth what they asking for? Well I've been using the Devialet soundbox for some time now...via TECH NEWS & REVIEWS - WhatGear.Net https://www.whatgear.net/technology/devialet-phantom-reactor-review For many years now I've spent hundreds of hours editing WhatGear videos using my trusty old Ikea chair. So I finally decided It's time for an upgrade. I have done research into the best gaming chairs right now... and the name SecretLab Chairs kept on popping up. So of course you know I had to check it out the Secretlab chairs for you guys. DesignI decided that the Secretlab Titan Ash colour would be my throne of choice. I must say I'm not disappointed with my choice at all. The attention to detail on this behemoth of a gaming chair is truly impressive. The premium stitching of the logos and titles are very well done. ![]() I just love the Tesla looking T for Titan Logo in the center and the Secretlab chair logo across the top and back combined with the Prime PU Leather gives it a very premium look. The Titan variant of Secret labs chair has actually been designed for the slightly wider set end user. No pun intended. The Secretlab Titan’s base is slightly wider and the armrests are slightly further apart than that if the Secretlab Omega. Also, the max weight that the Titan can take is higher than the Secretlab Omega range also. That's not to say that if you a slightly slimmer you shouldn't consider the Titan gaming chair. I'm quite slim & I chose the Titan not because of my size. I actually chose it because I prefer flatter base, as opposed to the bucket racing seat design. All the materials used on the Titan are premium. Everything from the ADC12 reinforced Japanese aluminum to the Cold-cured high-density foam, and the incredibly strong carbon structural steel foundation. Even the armrests are awesome. They are made up of a rubberized material with the Secretlab logo imprint. A nice touch. UsabilityWhen it comes to using the Titan day to day there are a bunch of controls. The tilt mechanism is placed perfectly on the right-hand side of the chair. Easily reachable without looking & allows you to almost lay flat. The buttons to raise and drop the armrest are also perfectly placed & easy to use. ![]() The armrest has a bunch of adjustments, inwards, outwards, straight forward, up & down and they even move forward and backward and even side to side. Under the base of the chair are two levers. One that will allow you to raise and lower the chair with its Class 4 heavy-duty KGS gas pistons. The other lever allow you to adjust the tilt freely and lock it in if you want. Also this something that's really cool. The Lumber support adjustments are built right into the chair, and It's got this really nice dial on the side to control it. Quality![]() The PU-Leather looks just like the real deal & I heard Secretlabs have stress tested this material with a 200,000 cycle abrasion test. So I'm pretty confident my usual jeans aren't going to scratch the surfaces. All the controls are well built and don't feel like they are going to snap off after prolonged use. The weight distribution is perfect, even when you lean back as far as the Titan will go, you will never feel like it's going to flip over. Awesome Featuresit's convenient because my name begins with T... Which makes the T at the center of the chair perfect it even more perfect for me. And it kind of looks like the Tesla T. The soft touch velour pillow adds to its comfort. You could quite easily fall asleep on this thing. ![]() The built-in lumbar support is really great as you don't need to mess around with a separate attachment. And just the overall premium build makes this, in my opinion, one of the best gaming chairs on the market. You can check out the current price of the SecretLab Titan gaming chair here. CHECK THE CURRENT PRICE - TITAN CHAIRvia TECH NEWS & REVIEWS - WhatGear.Net https://www.whatgear.net/technology/secretlab-titan-review-review Here are two of the very best smartphone cameras available today. It's time for another shootout! It's the Honor View 20 Vs Pixel 3 Camera Comparison 2019. Both phones have the latest updates, so you may see different results than you have seen in other videos. Google Pixel 3XL price [EU] | Google #Pixel3XL price [US] | Honor View 20 Deals [EU] | #HonorView20 | Deals [US] PHOTO ONE - Rear Camera Shooter![]() So here is a picture of the mighty Kaya. Both cameras are showing amazing clarity as you would expect. The main differences here is warmth of the Pixel picture and cool tones on the View 20. When it comes to colour accuracy I would probably lean towards the Pixel 3 picture. However details details and sharpness on the view 20 is just awesome. PHOTO TWO - The Selfie Shooters![]() Here's a selfy of me pulling a stupid face. The skin tones on the Pixel look awesome. Definitely got a bit of Color in my face there, and the again the view 20 a slightly cooler picture. One thing I noticed that is quite different here, is the amount of extra detail the view 20 is picking up through my sunglasses. PHOTO THREE - The Portrait Mode![]() This is a portrait shot on booth the phones of my sunglasses. Some of you guys have asked what model these Raybans are... I'll link them below. So back blurry background analysis. I would say both are an equally splendid job here. Although the pixel is applying slightly more blur & you can see this at the bottom right hand corner of the picture. A nice feature that the Pixel 3 has when come to selfies if the wide angle lens... A really fantastic addition. PHOTO 4 - Harsh backlightSo on screen I tapped the sun as the point of focus on both devices. I think this where that 48MP sensor in the View 20 really shines. It just able to capture more information even in this extreme light condition. ![]() PHOTO FIVE - Detail Shot![]() ![]() So here's a fifty pence piece. What's interesting here is now the View 20 has warmer colours and the Pixel slightly cooler. This is probably because of the AI camera on the V20. So I'm using this shot to demonstrate how much detail the two devices can capture. Let's zoom in and take a closer look. You really see the wear and tear on both coins. It's a really close one to call... I'm going rely on your opinion here. Which one has better details. PHOTO SIX - Colours![]() Here a colour shot of some daffodils. The first thing you will probably notice is the depth colour being a little better on the Pixel 3XL. Also a report green too. Although some of you may prefer colours on the View 20. I've added a poll here so you can cast your votes. So let me know what you think here. Which one won this one? PHOTO SEVEN - Low Light Indoor![]() Here is Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel. An awesome film by the way. So this was just in very lighting conditions. The Pixel really surprised me here as you can see the white balance is perfect. Really impressed with this. The view 20 has a sort of orange hue, which is kind of accurate as there was a small lamp with a tungsten bulb in the corner of the room. I have to say the Pixel clearly wins here...but in pitch black the V20 does have an advantage with its pro mode which will allow you to take a 30 sec long exposure. PHOTO EIGHTH - Low Light Outdoor![]() So this is a pretty cool photo of a very cool cinema. Anyway, I shot both pics with the specific night mode settings and you can see a couple differences. The pixel has much less blur around the lights under the sign, this is due to quickness in which the Pixel 3 can snap a low light photo. The View 20 takes a bit longer hence a little bit of blur. However the view 20 is showing more details on the white backlit board at the entrance, and that's probably due to that longer exposure time. PHOTO NINE - Low Light Neon![]() ![]() So here's a similar shot taken at close range. A big difference here. This is likely caused by the different software used on each device. The View 20 is clearly focusing in on the neon lights and the Pixel is focused on the bigger picture. But as a result slightly overexposing the neon sign. Overall which one do you think is better... Good burgers here by the way. PHOTO TEN - Low light detail![]() ![]() So I live in London...it's cold and rains a lot. As you can see in this photo. Both cameras doing a great job here, but the Pixels image is brighter and when we zoom in the clarity is also on the pixels side. Again this due to that longer exposure time the View 20 has. The image processing is just so impressive in low light on the Pixel 3. So I think the Pixel edges out the View 20 here. With that said had I had a tripod with me for the View 20 I'm sure I could have got a better image from the Honor... But it was raining and I didn't have time for that.
